DMCA Policy

One clear process handles copyright complaints and counter-notices at Reptilaw.

What you need to know

  • We respect intellectual property and respond to valid DMCA notices.
  • Send notices to [email protected] with all required elements.
  • A valid notice must clearly identify the copyrighted work and the specific URL of the material at issue.
  • You may file a counter-notification if you believe removal was a mistake or misidentification.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for repeat infringement.

Our commitment to rights holders

Reptilaw values creativity and the rights of creators. We review properly formatted copyright complaints and remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material where appropriate under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). When we act on a notice, we may notify the user who posted the material so they can respond.

Filing a notice

To be effective, a DMCA notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are covered.
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with specific location information such as the exact URL on reptilaw.com where it appears.
  4. Contact information for the complaining party, including full name, postal address, email address, and, if available, other means of contact.
  5. A statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Where to send your notice

Email (preferred): [email protected]

Mailing address: 18869 Wildflower Way, Lake Villa, Illinois 60046

Counter-notification

If you believe material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access disabled (for example, the exact URL on reptilaw.com).
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your full name, postal address, and email address, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts and will accept service of process from the original complaining party or their agent.

Send counter-notifications to [email protected]. Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may restore the material unless the original complaining party informs us that they have filed an action seeking a court order to restrain the user from engaging in infringing activity.

Repeat infringer policy

Reptilaw may, in appropriate circumstances and at its discretion, disable or terminate access for users who are the subject of repeated or egregious infringement claims. We also reserve the right to remove content alleged to infringe without prior notice.
